Jedi Praxeum - Locations of Interest

The grounds outside the praxeum are untilized by both the Jedi trainers and trainees for physical training as well and for practicing force powers. Below are the common places you can find Jedi padawans training and playing.

“Three miles up and three miles back.” South Hill has become notorious for the grueling runs and marches the masters make padawans condition themselves on. The hill leads up unto the jungle where more intensive exercises are preformed.

The greater jungled area beyond South Hill is regularly used training padawans. This stretch of jungle is relatively safe as it is ringed by high craggy hill that keep much of the more dangrous denzines of Yavin 4 away.

A mysterious black obelisk lies a few hundred meters east of the Praxeum. It’s origins can only be guessed at it appears to be a simple standing stone of black material, clearly created by the previous inhabitants but for what purpose?

A Simple Task Unsimplified
An easy trip turns out to be more than the padawans bargained for

" Melor-Keeg, come in. I repeat Melor-Keeg, come in"

Only static responded over the comlink as Bryn Orris looked out at the green dust storm blowing about the planet of Sheevan 7. He and Vis had only been on planet for a few hours and already Master Darven Tell had been abducted, they had been assaulted by a ruthless Wookie and now they barely survived being attacked by two cultists wielding lightsabers. They had been tracking Master Tell and were currently in the small town of Hara Kibar. Tell had been moved again and from intimidating the surviving cultist they knew Master Tell had been moved to Hara Habrak.

Bryn thought for a moment, he knew they needed to rest and heal but also must move fast to get to Master Tell in time. A Cerean bounty hunter by the name of Sune Turkhad helped them out and the next step was to go across the street and see what a dancer named Leeda had to stay. But for now, to buy a little time and hope that eventually they could get the jump on the captors Bryn called out over his comlink with a smooth lie, “Master Darven Tell, this is Bryn. We have found out that you are in Hara Kibar and will be there in about one day.”

Missing Archaeologists

Upon the news of the disappearance of two archaeologist groups Master Fandomar calls on Rika (Aaron’s character), Kal-Do and Zeset(Adam’s). After explaining their disappearances he requests that they seek out the parties and report back with their findings. After receiving the coordinates the Jedi party sets out.

Upon arrival of the location they see bloodied and mangled bodies lying near a building and some speeder bikes in the jungles of Yavin 4. The building, although fairly new looking, is being taken back by the jungle as evidenced by the jungle growth around it. As they approach the first body to examine its status the door to the temple opens. Three Stintarils appear through the doorway. Kal-Do immediately knocks two of them prone, but after their recovery they rush him and almost knock Kal-Do unconscious. The Jedi succeed, but not without taking a good amount of damage.

Reporting back to the temple, a retrieval party is sent to recover the remains of the archaeologists. As they wait the Jedi enter the building in the jungle. Upon entering they discover an empty hallway and a door on each side. Kal-Do’s force sense says to enter the left door. Discovering that the door works perfectly still the door opens and they discover a large and angry looking Stintaril. Although much tougher than the previous Stintarils the Jedi overpower this one. Zeset force grips it and holds it in place until it is defeated. Discovering that there is nothing in this room of interest they proceed to the other doorway. The door opens to reveal a very old looking droid hovering in the room behind another Stintaril. Zeset uses the force to allow him another use of force grip and holds the Stintaril in place. The droid retaliates and deals a large amount of damage to Zeset, but Zeset is still able to hold his grip on the beast. The Jedi easily defeat the Stintaril, but the droid manages to knock Rika unconscious. Rika manages to survive the fatal blow with the use of the force.

After defeating the droid the Jedi inspect it and discover that there is dark force emanating from the droid. They pick it up and return to the temple with the archaeologist bodies and the damaged droid.

Master Fandomar confirms the dark force energy imbued within the droid. Unsure of its origins he sends the droid to be studied and researched by the Jedi historians. Zeset, Kal-Do and Rika then take a much needed rest.

Into the Dust
Chased through the emerald wastes and into an arena

Bryn Orris and Vis Borricon found themselves in the company of a lovely women working as a dancer at a bar. In her room they waited patiently meditating on the events and opening themselves to the force. Leeda was the contact that Soonturk had given them and she supplied the two apprentices with keys to a vehicle outside the bar that she took from one of the patrons. Going out the back way and supplied with some rations, the two force users made their way to the vehicles as Bryn attempted to use the force to figure out which vehicle the key went to. Finally down to two choices he took a gamble and came up lucky, opening the vehicle and taking off down the street only to be shortly followed by one of the others.

A chase through the wastes as Vis and Bryn tried to fend of the dust farmers without harming them. As the chase nearly ended in calamity at the edge of a cliff, and the vehicles came to a stop, a new threat appeared and in large numbers. A hunting party of Gand easily outnumbering both the farmers and the two padawans took them as prisoners for trespassing on their land. Bryn tried to plead with the Gand but to no avail. They were taken along with the vehicles on a trek to an underground Gand settlement where the chief said that they would have to prove they were not dark force users by contest with Gondra. Forced into a cave and given their lightsabers back, across the room a gate opened and out strode Gondra, a Kintan Strider. The battle was hard fought with the creature recovering quickly from the wounds but between Vis and Bryn they were able to defeat it.

With the creature defeated, they had proven their worth to the Gand and were accepted into the tribe as warriors. Once the Gand believed that Vis and Bryn were trying to stop the dark force users, they supplied them with rations, equipment, their vehicle back, and a guide to the base of operations. Now on the outskirts and alone once more, Vis and Bryn must act quickly and be alert to free Master Tell and find out what these dark force cultists are doing out on Sheevan 7.

Out of the Green
Confronting the darkness

Driving into the town of Hara Barkur, Bryn Orris and Vis Borricon see the darkness that has consumed the town. The entrance had bodies of different races speared up with bones crumbling into the green sands of Sheevan 7. The feeling of evil permeated the town as the vehicle crept forward into it until a large shock woke Bryn out of his curious stupor. A land mine had gone off underneath the vehicle knocking out the vehicle but leaving the young Jedi out of harm. Within moments the scorching marks of a repeating blaster rifle started blistering the side of the vehicle.

Bryn and Vis jumped from the vehicle and began battling their way to the center of the town. The winds began to whip up even more as they neared town to a scene which shook them to their core. They saw Master Tell tied up at the top of a I-beam, his eyes nearly popping from his head as a green crystal floated in front of him which his gaze never left and his eyes never blinked. A group of people chanting around the I-beam wearing light armor and bones were in the middle of some type of ritual while the sand whipped around them. Their leader, wearing a skull mask, ordered his followers to stop the intruders but as Vis and Bryn fought their way forward they faced off against this leader. Vis and Bryn fought bravely and the force was strong in them as they handily defeated these cultists and freed Master Tell.

Helping a friend
Finding another clue

As Dashell Rann and Zerrin were entering Master Fandomar’s office they could see other young Jedi padawans leaving on another assignment. They saw that Dak Ronoo a Jedi Knight was still standing in the office with Master Fandomar. Master Fandomar greeted them and quickly got to the point of why he summoned them. “A friend of Master Luke, Kalana Shafer, is having difficulty with an escaped animal. Their village, Kavina, is 50km north of here. I would like for you two to accompany Dak to assist in capturing this animal. I do not know any other details, but her message sounded quite urgent.” Dashell and Zarrin agreed to help and they promptly left with Dak on a shuttle.

Landing just outside the village they began making their way to the address given to them by Fandomar. Not noticing anything out of the ordinary they approached Kalana’s house. Knocking on the door they received no response. However, they could hear some loud noises coming from inside. Opening the door they discovered Kalana perched on top of a tall shelf surrounded by three stintarils with one of them looking quite large. As Kalana was having difficulty shooting them with her blaster, the Jedi Jumped into action and were able to defeat the stintarils without taking too much damage. Dak was sporting a rather large bite from his leg. After their brief battle Kalana served the Jedi some caf and explained to them that these creatures attack from time to time and normally she did not have difficulty with them. These stintarils seemed to be stronger and faster than normal, but they were not what she summoned them to help her with. . As she was about to explain what she needed assistance with there was a loud crash behind her as a giant claw reached through the window and pulled Kalana back through the gaping hole in the wall. The Jedi controlling their surprise at seeing a rancor, quickly sprang into action.

Dak used his battlestrike to quickly cause some serious damage to the rancor, but was not able to free Kalana from its grip. Zerrin was able to use the force to push the rancor back a step and although not very far it was enough for the rancor to release its grip on Kalana. Fortunately, Kalana was still alive although barely and conscious. As she was falling Dashell used the force to speed himself between Kalana and the rancor as a human shield. The rancor angry at this new foe, swiped at Dashell nearly killing him. Kalana, taking advantage of the situation ran as quickly as she could away to hide behind some trees. Dashell was able to get himself to safety and catch his breath as Dak used his lightsaber skills to slay the beast while Zerrin held it in place with the force. After defeating the rancor, the warriors found Kalana and helped her back into what was left of her home.

She explained to them that the rancor had escaped from some illegal slave traders who had a camp nearby. Knowing that they would be brought to justice if caught, they left the local villages to fend for themselves against the rancor. She thanked them for their help and said that the villagers would make sure to put the body of the rancor to good use. As the Jedi were about to leave they could sense a dark presence of the force emanating from the stintaril bodies. Remembering a similar encounter other Jedi had with these creatures recently, Zerrin used the force to discover where these creatures had come from.

Picking up the trail, the Jedi traveled through the jungle a short distance to an abandoned building. The Jedi cautiously entered the ruins. Turning a corner they came face to face with more stintarils and a small ancient droid hovering behind them. Although the Jedi had taken serious damage from their last encounter they leapt into action. After a long fought battle and Dashell nearly being knocked unconscious they emerged victorious. They brought the remains of the droid back to the temple.

Fandomar eagerly accepted the fallen droid and sent it with a young Jedi to be brought to the archives for the historians to examine. “This droid should help expedite their research in discovering their origins. We will let you know what we find.” The three weary Jedi then went off to find some bacta and meditate.

Wild Child

Summoned by Master Verock he expressed his concern over the welfare of an intermediate padawan, Kola Boreena. Enlisting Vis’s aid the senior padawan student sought his younger peer only to find she has disappeared! Searching and asking about he was lead out to the air-field finding scraps of Kola’s robes in the bushes. Searching his feelings Vis stretched out with the force and deftly pinpointed the younger padawan out into the jungle but his force probe was mysteriously hampered. Worried over the fate of the troubled student he called Bryn for backup and rushed into the jungle. Finding Kola was no trouble but she was being attacked by a strangely mutated Sintaril. The source of the strange force disturbance may have been the Black Obelisk that Vis found Kola at but it is yet uncertain. The enlarged beast vicious attacked the junior padawan and before perishing let out a deafening screech summoning more of it’s kind. Fortunately, Bryn arrive just in time to fight the beasts off with Vis and they safely returned Kola to the praxeum. Vis had also given Bryn one of the strange Sintaril corpses to take to the research wing for investigation. Vis tried to counsel the younger student about her difficulties conforming to the jedi code and life-style. Later, after she had returned and apologizes to Master Verock about her deception Vis took her to the top of the South Hill for a training duel to test her commitment to the first tenant of the jedi code : There is no Emotion, there is peace. Kola seemed to overcome her anger and frustration and focus on the duel, perhaps she does have what it takes to become a true jedi.

Final Transmission of the Immovable

Final transmission of the Immovable, flagship of the Thirteenth Imperial Fleet

Admiral Galad’s voice: This is Admiral Galad of the Thirteenth Imperial Fleet, during our attempted negotiation with the New Republic. It seems we had traitors on board, numbering around twenty, who seem to be “Sith”, according to our Jedi guests, plotting to poison Senator Fairfield. Through their work, our Jedi delegates, William Rika, Goron Gorab, and Dylan Wyatt thankfully saved him from harm.

They’ve taken out the generator for the ship, and security reports that three of their men have holed up in there, managing to barricade themselves in, with the intent to jump start it after the bridge is taken. We are currently managing to hold the bridge, but it cannot last, not while their leader still lives, or his apprentice. We are nearly overwhelmed. I’ve ordered all crew not currently in combat to abandon ship, and I’m afraid that I have only one final choice: self-destruct the ship. My crew has been the finest, and I am glad to have served with them. My only hope is that we take some of the scum out. Admiral Galad, out.

Unknown voice, barely heard: Well sir, at least it’s not Ewoks…

Grim laughter follows for a brief moment before the transmission is cut

Report on the Attack on the Immovable, Praxeum Council

The three were sent to supervise the negotiations with the Thirteenth Imperial Fleet on breaking away from the Imperial Remnants and joining with the Republic. Two padawans (Rika and Gorob), and one master (Wyatt), were dispatched to meet Senator Fairfield in attending a diplomatic reading to verify that the Thirteenth Imperial Fleet (who were defeated in the Battle of Endor) was harboring no deception. Dylan Wyatt, on review, may not have been the finest choice, as he had lost family to the Imperials, but we trusted his impartiality. After a somewhat shaky take off, and a stylish landing by Rika, they were ushered to meet with the delegation. During this, Rika apparently noticed someone pouring a substance into the drinks. One startling fact is that this person seemed to be Markus Cain, a Padawan thought dead in a shuttle accident. After some interrogation, it looked as if this was simply a sedative, and the pair managed to usher the Senator out.

While waiting for the Senator to awaken, the pair stood guard outside of his chambers, when the generator was sabotaged, bathing the ship in darkness. Then a team of Sith apprentices (we assume) attacked, led by Markus Cain. The pair managed to dispatch the Sith, and after conversing with the Senator (an old special operative of the Rebellion), tried to make their escape. There, they made contact with Master Dylan, and nearly managed to escape when the Sith Master appeared. Master Dylan fought valiantly to protect his charges, but he was slain in the battle, and both Goron and Rika were nearly killed, until Goron called upon the Force to escape the Sith’s attack, and the three managed to flee, though it was reported that the Master was dragging off Master Dylan’s body, leaving one word of warning:

“Run back to your Jedi masters, and tell them that we are coming.”

Emminent Threat
The Jedi strain revealed

With the recent events pulling Jedi Knights and Masters away to deal with issues around the galaxy, a researcher of the Praxeum called upon nearly a third of the advanced class for help. With recent attacks by the mutated Sintaril’s and the strange droids following them more information was needed. The Jedi Archivist gathered Bryn Orris, Dashell Rann, Vis Borricon, Zenset, and Kal-Do, asking them to go in search of information. The Archivist knew that a Wookie mechanic by the name of Worfel lived in the village of Kaveena and had been there a long time and might know more. With the directions, the students left immediately to find Worfel.

Upon arriving on the outskirts of Kaveena near Worfel’s shop, the students noticed a couple Gamorreans and what looked to be bounty hunters lead by a Hutt pulling out an unconscious Wookie. Dashell spoke the language of the Hutt and began questioning him on why he was abducting Worfel. It seems the Hutt believed that Worfel had cheated him on a repair job and now the Hutt was either going to take Worfel as punishment or the students would have to pay an enormous sum. The students leaped into action to defend the Wookie and pushed forward into the thugs with lightsabers and blasters firing. The Hutt slowly began to escape, leaving his henchmen to their own fate as the students quickly disabled the Gamorreans and as they knocked out the final bounty hunter they saw the grenade in his hand. The students dove for cover as the grenade went off killing the unconscious thugs. As a couple of the students went to tend to Worfel, the others were about to stop the Hutt when he was immediately picked up by a small personal transport and taken away.

The students brought Worfel into his shop and laid him down, applying a medpac to heal him as Dashell repaired a protocol droid which had been nearly destroyed. As the droid translated for Worfel, the students found out that there had been some strange activity at an old Massassi ruin to the South. Getting what information they could, the students left for the ruin immediately.

Landing near the ruin, a couple of the students saw an old Jedi who was thought to be dead named Dorsk 81. Asking what he was doing there, he told them that he was saved by the cult of Ragnos and that the Jedi had left him for dead. He gave the students the opportunity to join the dark side where the power of the force was truly known, but as they refused he ordered their deaths. More of the mutated Sintarils along with there droid partners attacked along with a couple cultists as Dorsk 81 held back. Knowing that they were going to be overmatched, Dashell (I think) ordered the retreat as the rest of the students moved forward to hold the line. The advanced students showed their prowess against the minions of Dorsk 81 but could barely penetrate his defenses. Even while fleeing, Dorks 81 mind tricked Brynn to shoot Vis as he drove. The students returned to the academy as fast as possible to relay the information, that the Cult of Ragnos was on Yavin and that all were in danger…

The Assault of Denton

As per their suspicions have demanded many of the masters have left Yavin4 to destroy the ever present evil force users threatening the Praxeum. Master Verock has requested Vis Borricon and a cadre of intermediate students travel to the village-town of Denton and inform the town as well as communications relay of the growing and possibly imminent threat of assault on Yavin 4. While the communication relay is of minor significance it still represents a security asset and demands extra attention. Vis and the younger students traveled via speeder-shuttle with an Republic pilot. Upon arriving they checked in with the local Republic Captain at the rely and had tried unsuccessfully to warn the major enough to take action and protect the town. In the middle of eating a light freighter landed in town and squads of soldiers disembarked with blasters and grenades. Some traveled up the hill towards the comm relay while others began to destroy the town with fire-bombs. Racing to action Vis and the young students met an evil force user and dispatched him readily. Unfortunately, there were lots of heavily armed and armored soldiers laying down fire in their direction. In the midst of fighting Vis turned to engaged two additional force users backed up by a full squad of soldiers. In the melee the young Padawan Lendrock fell in combat against the Shadow Student but Kena and Kola fought on. The evil force user summoned a dark rage of immense proportions and pounded at Vis with hammering lightsabre blows. Vis countered most the swings but suffered a couple demanding lightsabre slashes. In the midst of their duel Vis picked up a truck a soldier was using for a heavy weapon’s brace and crushed a whole squad of soldiers. Kola engaged the Shadow Student valiantly but eventually fell. At the last moment Vis summoned a protective force shield and and turned aside an incredibly defect and massive assault by the raging evil force user. Vis struck back with a talented blow that split the evil student in half. In the melee Kena had also fallen. Seizing the moment Vis charged and dispatched the heavy weapons soldier only to turn face additional soldiers blasting in his direction. In a desperate sprint Vis took every step in what seemed to be slow motion, the force guiding every step, arriving in the soldier’s faces unscathed and dispatched them. The shadow student fled in fear and ran into the mysterious ship. Turning back to save his young charges more soldiers returned to the ship…leaving a now smoldering communications relay station. After reviving those he could Vis turned a determined effort towards this ship. Communing carefully and skillfully with the force he picked the ship into the air and with a telekinetic pull thrashed it into the ground. Unfortunately, even a light freighter is a colossus and can take more than a single bash to become disabled. The freighter then escaped into the air leaving Vis and his students to save what was left of the town and the few survivors of the burnt out comm station.
